Casa Nova Studios is a company combining the talents and obsessions of Tommy Mokas and Nick Rosenthal. We follow our inner compass to create music that does something for us, which we believe will then, in turn, do something for you. We’re a business, but money doesn’t drive our creative mind. Our mission is to make incredible things with incredible people, and while we primarily focus on music, it isn’t the only thing we do. We are idea men, and sometimes ideas can seem radical and strange, but it is the right thing. So we try it. We think of our studio as a laboratory, and us the absent-minded professors, working in the art of alchemy.

One of our primary focuses involves making music to and for the moving image. We work with directors, advertisers, and crazy people to lift and expand the message being conveyed. We do this through thoughtful inquiry, experience, and experimentation. This process is part psychology, part super-sleuth-y.

Another primary focus is to create interesting music for ourselves, because in that we become better at what we do. It is a constant process, and it is certainly our most favorite. It is unfiltered and raw, and it is ours. We are multi-instrumentalists and singers who are constantly evolving and playing, learning from other musicians and other recordings as well as our own. We’re not afraid to be critical of ourselves or of making ourselves uncomfortable to further understand our own minds. We have a flair for the extreme, the bizarre, the very lows and very highs. Our goal is to create things we’ll want to listen to years from now and be proud of.

We are also well versed in working with artists, and are particularly savvy in helping an artist find a voice, or find a new voice they hadn’t fell upon before. Our writing and recording processes can both create comfort and test the limits of the artist.
